International Women’s Day: The Crone
On Saturday 7 March, Ormston House partners with STARLING to curate a programme of film, workshop, and live performance entitled The Crone, in celebration of International Women’s Day, 2026.
STARLING is inspired by The Crone as a state of wisdom and maturity through which to weave waves of multigenerational feminist and transfeminist thought. The Crone is the one with the most experience in the world. She is free of societal and reproductive expectations, no longer defined by what she must produce or perform. She encompasses the human condition, having endured it and rebirthed herself – arriving at a third, most powerful stage of life. To celebrate International Women’s Day, we invite you to join us in making contact with our inner crones.
The programme begins at 2pm with an informal workshop by Synthesize_Her. This is followed by a screening of rarely seen works by Irish surrealist filmmaker Flora Kerrigan and a performance by Shirani Bolle. Films by No-Wave legend Vivienne Dick are followed by performances by Bea McMahon and SÍODA.
2pm: Synthesize_Her,
4pm: Flora Kerrigan,
6pm: Shirani Bolle,
6.30pm: Vivienne Dick,
8.15pm: Bea McMahon,
8.45pm: SÍODA.
Admission is free and all are welcome. Booking is not necessary and audiences can join at any point.
